Teacher's Farm

The Story of Vathiyar Thottam

Vathiyar means teacher. Our farm was started by our father, who was a teacher. What began as his farm is now our family's way of sharing naturally grown mangoes from Muthanampatti directly with customers.

Why Our Mangoes Are Different

இயற்கையான முறையில் வளர்க்கப்பட்ட மாம்பழங்கள்

Many mangoes travel through long supply chains before reaching customers. They may be picked early, stored, handled by multiple middlemen, and ripened quickly for market timing. Our mangoes come directly from Vathiyar Thottam, our small family farm in Muthanampatti. We harvest in small batches, sort by hand, and pack with care. We do not use carbide ripening or artificial shine.

How It Works

  1. We harvest only when ready

Picked close to maturity, in small batches.

  2. We sort and pack carefully

Hand-sorted, packed with care, no artificial shine.

  3. We ship directly from the farm

No warehouse stock, no long supply chain.

  4. You enjoy fresh seasonal mangoes

With a natural ripening window at home.

Questions, Answered

Are these mangoes organic?+

We follow traditional natural farming practices at Vathiyar Thottam, our small family farm. If formal organic certification is available, we will mention it clearly. Until then, we describe our mangoes honestly as naturally grown using traditional practices.

Do you use carbide for ripening?+

No. We do not use carbide ripening. Our mangoes are harvested close to maturity and allowed to ripen naturally.

Why are some mangoes different in size or color?+

That is normal with farm-grown mangoes. Unlike mass-sorted supermarket fruit, our mangoes may naturally vary in size, skin color, and ripeness.
